"Big Band Goes Heavy" to go on record

The heavy meets jazz programme arranged especially for 2009 OASBB Festival has been recorded. "Big Band Goes Heavy" featuring J.Ahola was a success also at the Music on Top Festival's JAZZhouse in Oulu 13.3. 2010. The record will be released in the autumn.

Musician changes

From the beginning of 2010 Antti Näpänkangas is to permanently replace Mika Kaijanen within the trombone section. The band would like to wish Mika all the best for his future adventures and welcome Anttti for the line-up.

III Oulu All Star Big Band Festival success

The third Oulu All Star Big Band Festival took place at Uusi Seurahuone in Oulu 6.-7.11.2009. On Saturday the band performed with legendary Maarit and Sami Hurmerinta. Friday's exciting premiere of "Big Band Goes Heavy" featured Teräsbetoni star J. Ahola. The new heavy programme has received such good feedback that the band is already planning more gigs for next year. Congratulations to the conducter Maunuvaara and metal music artist Ahola for planning the successful progamme. Thanks also goes to the people who wrote the new arrangements of the songs. What on earth will we do at next year's festival if the standard has been set so high now!
